The place to go for GAS! GTA was exceptional in delivering the initial gas qualification. The structure of the course was great and the tutors are very knowledgeable in their field being time-served engineers. Tony especially was an amazing guy - we had great laughs throughout the course - and he taught us everything we needed to know, not just to pass the exams, but most importantly to be safely trained and competent working within the gas industry! Never a stupid question to be asked, and he was always able to help and explain things clearly so to understand them. The center was very relaxed and comfortable. Always plenty of tea and coffee throughout the day!! I will miss going there on Fridays but will definitely be back to renew my unvented hot water and gas tickets in the future. ~ Ed V

I enjoyed most of it. I just wish that there was more practical tasks for us to learn. I think that for complete novices, like myself, having a little bit more hands on experience would have been invaluable. But still a good learning experience overall. I know that it is down to the individual to get out there and gain that knowledge and confidence to work on gas, but yeah, a little taste of learning how to bend and solder pipework would’ve helped. Maybe stripping down some old boilers and going through every part in more detail and maybe even fitting some as a class could’ve been an idea? If you’re not from a plumbing background it can make the journey a little more complicated, but I still enjoyed the course and loved the experience and knowledge I gained 👍🏻 ~ Joe H

Always feel extremely comfortable attending GTA for my training and assessments, all the staff there are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help out, especially if there is a certain area that you may struggle with, the guys are friendly down to earth people who know exactly what your going through as they’ve all been there before!!! I’ve qualified with GTA on a few occasions now and will certainly be using them again in the future. I just want to say a massive thank you to Vic and Dave and Tony and the rest of the team for making my re-qualification just that bit less stressful. I’m sure I’ll see you all in the future. The gas lecturer was very experienced with excellent teaching skills and he passed information in a concise detail with professionalism. The training centre has very good facilities for assessment and a very clean environment. The gas assessor was professional who explained every task clearly and accurately and I did not feel nervous. The staff was very friendly and I miss the coffee made fresh which gave me Plenty of time to concentrate on my Assessment. I would recommend this assessment Centre to all my colleagues and friends This is the reason why I have booked again with this centre for my Unvented assessment in Feb 2020. ~ Jawed N

"Excellent training Facility. Very knowledgeable staff. Third time i have been back. This center is an hours drive for me but well worth it.The quality of training is first class. I found the assessors guidance and explanation of what was required to be clear and concise. The training pace was adjusted for those of less experience whilst allowing candidates with more knowledge to continue without being held back.All your efforts were much appreciated. Absolutely fantastic, couldn’t have asked for better training,,especially our main trainer Mr A Igoe, his knowledge, help, training and advice was invaluable to me and I’m sure I talk on behalf of the rest of the guys on the course. From start to finish there was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Although repetitive at times the training was very clear and direct. I personally felt that the test conditions were relaxed as they could be, given the circumstances. The profession experience of all the teaching/ testing staff, aloud them to appropriately help and guid students where necessary. Just finished my LPG training today with GTA. I have always used them from the first time I passed my natural gas course. I can do my job but find it hard to understand some of the reading and writing side of gas training. It can be embarrassing to admit this sometimes. But the whole team understand that we are not all scientists and help you achieve your true potential. Everything I have learned from GTA has made me a better engineer, I’m more confident in my ability, and walk out every time with a smile on my face. I would fully recommend GTA as a top quality training provider for anyone considering working within the gas industry. The centre is very well equipped to support the training needs and GTA have very knowledgeable and engaging trainers. The course was delivered over a period which allowed for a gradual learning, rather than feeling rushed or too quick. Also the trainers go over the course material ensuring everyone is grasping the topics. The price of the course was very reasonable too, when compared with other training providers in the Essex area. I thoroughly enjoyed my training & overall experience with the guys at GTA. I felt the training was brilliant & would highly recommend friends or anyone who is looking to become gas safe & build a Career in the gas industry. The atmosphere there is relaxed but serious when it needs to be, which I feel is the best environment for learning! I’ve made a great group of friends whilst carrying out the course & I hope to keep in touch with them all along with the trainers in the future. I was completely new to the gas industry before attending the course so I totally can relate to nerves & anxiety before attending the course, but I was made to feel comfortable straight away. I’ll be looking to return at some point to possibly carry out further training on unvented systems & maybe LPG. I wouldn’t think twice about giving Tony, Dave, chris, or Toby, a call for advise if I felt I needed it whilst on the Field, as I’m sure they would be more then happy to help. 10 out 10 for the facility’s & for making the course the experience I received 👍🏼 ~ David L

I would recommend this to anyone starting gas as I was an apprentice learning gas in a gas fire company did my fire and boiler ticket with GTA, I learnt so much with this company and got on so well with all the staff, they make the place is so easy going and informative, Tony was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about near enough anything within the boundaries of gas, not to mention mark as a brilliant teacher too, I’ll definitely be back hear for my re-assessment in the future and to be honest you would be silly to anywhere else. ~ Kian C

Great course, very nice people. If you are looking to enter the gas trade then I would highly recommend GTA to provide the training. I undertook the 26 week program which I believe helped with retaining the information as you are exposed to it for a longer period. Each visit was filled with 2 way banter which lightened the mood of the classroom and made learning the trade fun. In a way I am sorry the course ended. Vik, John and the team are beyond helpful and polite and this being my first time attending G.T.A the training and assessment is second to none. It is far the best place to go within Essex to do any form of Gas training/Assessments. Very supportive while i had a family issue come up while doing my assessment but the support from Vic, John and the team was overwhelming. i would 1000% recommend anyone who's look to do any reassessments for Gas please go to G.T.A as you will not be disappointed. ~ wayne B

Anyone who is thinking of becoming a gas engineer / plumber /electrician or is allready a gas engineer/electrain /plumber ready to do their acs again or other qualifications don't mess about or shop about go to Gta basildon training centre thay are the best traing Assessors in the industry. It’s an easy to find place with loads of free parking. The team are welcoming on arrival and immediately get you familiar with the tea and coffee facilities! The trainers are friendly and to the point with the training and all materials you need are supplied. They are happy to go over anything that doesn’t sink in straight away. It’s a good, positive experience and I’ve been there on numerous occasions over the last 12 years. ~ Ed B

All the staff at Gas Training and Assessment are not only highly knowledgeable, they are personable and approachable too. There has also been a low turnover of staff over the years, which lends the reassureance of seeing a couple of familiar faces every time time you attend. Though certainly not the most local training centre to me, for the reasons above, Gas Training and Assessment is my first choice above any other. ~ David S

I attended GTA to obtain my CENWAT (boilers) and my HTR1 (Gas Fires). And I must say my experience was very pleasing in the fact that all the staff was extremely helpful and really friendly. I would like to give a special mention to Chris and Toby for taking good care of me and displaying a high level of subject Knowledge. I would definitely recommend GTA to anybody that wants to explore the world of Gas Engineering. ~ Adrian D

My experience at GTA was not what you would imagine when being educated from scratch about a new trade, you are taught thoroughly, you do need to absorb and learn the how too's and why's, do's and dont's , what to do in certain situations, rules and regs, building regs, health and safety regs, water regs, gas safe regs, it goes on and on. Trying as best to take it all on board, which you cant there is to much to remember everything. It sounds tedious and stress full, but let me tell you it could not of been made any more fun, entertaining and enjoyable than it was , when at the same time learning for your future. I started my own b uisiness a month after completing my gas training, there was bound to be some jobs I struggled to solve, not many though, some circumstances when I needed clarity on certain situations. Every single time I called GTA for help or advice they stepped up. From day 1 of the coarse, the 6 months during the coarse and now 6 months after qualifying as a gas safe engineer, they have been at the end of the phone if I needed them to be. Superb bunch of fellas. So thanks Chris, Dave, Vic and I suppose Tony. Lol ~ CP12 G

Great centre. And Toby was superb. Courses taken were water regs and unvented which could be quite boring but plenty of anecdotes and stories to keep things interesting. Office staff couldn't be more helpful. Back in a month for air source heat pumps. The array of courses is very broad. I'm not a plumber more industrial and commercial and even though some of my questions may have seemed silly was treated with respect and understanding. ~ Phil A

I've been in this training center last year to do my LPG and my ACS reassessment it was top!!! Came back this year to do my F-Gas course it was very interesting... There is a lot to absorb but it was fun... The workshop, the materials and the tools they give you to work with are top quality... The teachers are very helpful, they want you to understand the course and succeed... A big thank you to the team ~ Patrick P

Hi there Well what can I say about the training at the center apart from they are amazing instructors. They help you and make you feel relaxed when in your lessons or taking your exams. I travel from Portsmouth to the center to re sit my exams because they really are the best instructors I’ve had. Thank you again to all the instructors and team at the test center. I felt that the structure of the course was very well organised and projected in a way that was easy to understand. The assessment was thorough and professional throughout. Top training centre, only one I use and travel really far for it. Knowledgeable, helpful staff that have a bit of a joke too. They do take gas certification seriously though and I have overheard them advising some people extremely tactfully not to carry on but ultimately leaving the decision up to them to risk failure and paying for it. They have very, very reasonable prices too. ~ Gavin B
