Gas Training & Assessment is a professional training centre in Basildon, Essex, providing accredited training for aspiring and experienced engineers. Established for over 25 years, we offer gas, electrical, plumbing and renewable energy courses, including ACS gas training, new entrant pathways, boiler fault finding, refresher training and heat pump courses. Our experienced trainers provide practical, hands-on training in small classes, giving candidates more individual support in a relaxed and friendly environment. Whether you are starting a new career or an experienced engineer updating your qualifications and skills, our training centre provides professional guidance, practical facilities and industry-recognised training.

I enjoyed most of it. I just wish that there was more practical tasks for us to learn. I think that for complete novices, like myself, having a little bit more hands on experience would have been invaluable. But still a good learning experience overall. I know that it is down to the individual to get out there and gain that knowledge and confidence to work on gas, but yeah, a little taste of learning how to bend and solder pipework would’ve helped. Maybe stripping down some old boilers and going through every part in more detail and maybe even fitting some as a class could’ve been an idea?
If you’re not from a plumbing background it can make the journey a little more complicated, but I still enjoyed the course and loved the experience and knowledge I gained 👍🏻

The place to go for GAS!
GTA was exceptional in delivering the initial gas qualification. The structure of the course was great and the tutors are very knowledgeable in their field being time-served engineers. Tony especially was an amazing guy - we had great laughs throughout the course - and he taught us everything we needed to know, not just to pass the exams, but most importantly to be safely trained and competent working within the gas industry! Never a stupid question to be asked, and he was always able to help and explain things clearly so to understand them.
The center was very relaxed and comfortable. Always plenty of tea and coffee throughout the day!!
I will miss going there on Fridays but will definitely be back to renew my unvented hot water and gas tickets in the future.

Always feel extremely comfortable attending GTA for my training and assessments, all the staff there are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help out, especially if there is a certain area that you may struggle with, the guys are friendly down to earth people who know exactly what your going through as they’ve all been there before!!! I’ve qualified with GTA on a few occasions now and will certainly be using them again in the future. I just want to say a massive thank you to Vic and Dave and Tony and the rest of the team for making my re-qualification just that bit less stressful. I’m sure I’ll see you all in the future.
